Help
How the tools work, and what to do when something gets in the way.
Getting started
BskyKit is free, with no account with us. Pick a tool from the tools directory. Tools that only read public Bluesky data work without signing in: previewing Starter Packs and lists in the converter, checking accounts in Bulk Follow, Compare Lists, Handle & DID Lookup, Reply Export, Top Posts, Best Time to Post, and Post Screenshot. Tools that read your own follows or lists, or change your account, ask you to sign in.
Nothing changes on your account until you select the accounts or records and confirm.
Signing in
- Choose Sign in in the header and type your handle, such as name.bsky.social, or your own domain if you use one as your handle, such as example.com. A leading @ or a bsky.app profile link works too.
- Continue with Bluesky takes you to the server that hosts your account, where you approve access the way you approve any other app. Your password or an App Password is never entered on BskyKit. Accounts on servers other than bsky.social work the same way.
- Afterwards you come back to the page you started from.
- The session stays in this browser. Sign out in the account menu revokes it on your Bluesky server and clears the follow lists kept for that account.
The tools
Starter Pack Converter
Paste one or more Starter Pack or list links (bsky.app, go.bsky.app, and at:// links all work), or find packs by topic or by the account that made them. Untick anyone, or skip people you already follow, accounts you block, labeled accounts, and people already on your list. Then save the result as a new list (curation or moderation), add it to one of your lists, make a Starter Pack of up to 150 people, or follow them all. You can also export the people as CSV or JSON.
Following Review
Loads everyone you follow and sorts out who is not following back, gone, never posted, inactive (after 30, 90, 180, or 365 days), labeled, blocked, has an invalid handle, or is followed twice. Select the accounts and unfollow them, or export the selection.
Follow Back
Shows the followers you do not follow yet. Leave out labeled, blocked, never posted, or invalid-handle accounts, then follow back the ones you choose.
Bulk Follow
Paste handles, DIDs, or bsky.app profile links, one per line or separated by commas, upload a CSV or text file (a CSV exported from the converter works), or add accounts with the search field. Check the accounts, pick the ones to follow, and follow them.
Follower Changes
Each time your followers finish loading in full on this device, on this page or Follow Back, BskyKit compares them with the last time and keeps what changed in this browser. See who unfollowed you and your new followers for each change, and your mutuals. Select people who unfollowed you, or mutuals, and unfollow them, with undo. The first full load only starts the record, so changes show from the next one.
My Lists
Shows the lists you own. Edit a list's name, description, or avatar; members stay as they are. From a list's menu you can copy it, make a Starter Pack or the other kind of list from it, or clean it up.
Compare Lists
Enter any two public lists or Starter Packs, yours or anyone's, and see who is in both, only in the first, or only in the second. Export a group, or save it as a list through the converter.
List Clean Up
Pick one of your lists to find members who are gone (deleted, deactivated, or taken down), have an invalid handle, are labeled or blocked, or were added more than once. Removing them deletes only the list entries; the accounts themselves are not touched.
Merge Lists
Choose one of your lists to add to, and a list or Starter Pack to take members from. BskyKit adds the people who are not on your list yet. If the source was your own list, you can then delete it.
My Blocks
Sign in to see everyone you block, read from your own Bluesky server, including accounts that were deleted since. Filter by deleted or gone, labeled, follows you, or you follow them, search, export the selection, and unblock the ones you choose. Undo blocks them again.
My Mutes
Sign in to see everyone you mute. Mutes are private; they are read through your own Bluesky server. Search, export, and unmute the ones you choose. Undo mutes them again.
Block & Mute Lists
Shows the moderation lists you subscribe to as block lists and as mute lists, with who made them and how many members they have. Unsubscribe from the ones you choose, or paste a list link to subscribe to it as a block or mute list. Both can be undone from History.
Bulk Block
Paste handles, DIDs, or bsky.app profile links, or upload a CSV or text file, as in Bulk Follow. Check the accounts, choose Block or Mute, and pick who to include; accounts you already block or mute are skipped.
Block Followers
Sign in and enter any account to load its followers, 100 at a time and up to 10,000 with Load all. Everyone is selected, people you follow included; your own account and the account itself are never added. Choose a new moderation list or one of yours, and BskyKit adds the accounts to it and, once the run finishes, subscribes you to the list as a block list. Or choose Block each account for one block per account; accounts you already block are skipped. Above 1,000 accounts you choose whether to start with the newest part or the whole run.
Content Search
Sign in and type what you are looking for. Posts finds your own posts and replies with Bluesky's search at once; it matches whole words. Reposts and Likes search the posts you reposted or liked in the same read of your account that Bulk Delete uses, by text, author handle, or address, and list them all when the search is empty. Bookmarks reads your bookmarks when you open the tab and keeps them only while the tab is open. Every result opens on Bluesky; nothing is changed.
Unreplied Mentions
Sign in to see the mentions, replies, and quotes of the last 24 hours, 7 days (the default), or 30 days that you have not replied to, newest first. A post counts as answered once you have replied to it. Posts from accounts you mute or block, or that block you, are left out; Only people I follow narrows the list further. Up to 5,000 notifications are read. Every post opens on Bluesky; nothing is changed and nothing is marked as read.
Bulk Delete
Sign in and choose Read my posts, reposts, and likes. BskyKit reads every one from your own Bluesky server, then loads the posts you liked and reposted so you can see them. Filter by type, date (older than 30 days or a year, the last 30 days, or your own dates), keywords, media, and labels, or search; the list is a dry run of exactly what would go, with a count of each type. Select single items or all that match, then choose Delete selected. The read stays on this device, shows at once on your next visit, and adds what you posted, reposted, or liked since; Read again starts over and Clear removes it.
Deletes are permanent: a deleted post loses its likes, replies, reposts, and quotes, and its pictures and videos cannot be recovered. Deleting a like or repost only takes back yours. You type DELETE to start, and when you confirm, BskyKit downloads a JSON export of exactly those records (with your posts' text, embeds, and the IDs of their pictures and videos) before it deletes anything. If the export cannot be downloaded, nothing is deleted. If your pinned post is selected, BskyKit says so.
Account Download
Sign in and choose Check my account. BskyKit reads your repository from your own Bluesky server and lists your images and videos, then shows your records by type, how many media files there are, and the download size. Turn off Include images and videos for Data only, then choose Download. The ZIP holds repo.car (your whole account, as the server sends it), one JSON file of records per collection, and a media folder. In Chrome and Edge on a computer you choose where to save it and it is written there as it downloads, at any size; in other browsers a download over 1.5 GB comes as several ZIP files, the records in the first. Media your server will not give is listed in missing-media.txt.
Handle & DID Lookup
Enter a handle, DID, or profile link to see the account's DID, its server, when it was created, its handle history, and whether its handle verifies through DNS or HTTPS.
Reply Export
Paste a post link to load its replies, read them nested or oldest first, and export them as CSV or JSON. Very large threads load in parts; choose Continue to load more.
Top Posts
Enter any account and a period (30 days, 90 days, a year, all time, or your own dates) to see its most liked, reposted, replied-to, and quoted posts. Long scans pause every 10,000 posts; choose Scan further to go on. Export the results as CSV or JSON.
Best Time to Post
Enter any account, or keep yours when signed in, to see when 500 of its followers, picked at random, posted, replied, and reposted over the last 30 days, and when its own posts of the last 90 days got the most likes, replies, reposts, and quotes. Both come as a week of hours in your time zone with three suggested two-hour windows. The result is kept on this device; choose Recompute for a fresh one.
Account Inspector
Enter any account to see who it follows, its followers, its posts and likes, the accounts it blocks, who blocks it, and the lists it is on. Each list loads when you open it, 100 at a time; Load all reads up to 10,000 at a time. Export any list as CSV. Blocked by and Lists on are read by your browser from Constellation, a public index of Bluesky records run by microcosm, which receives the account's DID.
Post Screenshot
Paste a post link to get a clean image of the post: on a rounded card (with a transparent, plain, or gradient background) or edge to edge, in light or dark, with or without the Bluesky logo, its date, counts, and quoted post. Choose Download PNG or Copy image. Pictures are read from each author's own server; any that cannot be read show as empty boxes. Media labeled as adult content or graphic media are blurred unless you choose to show them.
Limits
Bluesky limits how fast an account can read and write, and BskyKit paces its work to stay within those limits. The follow tools explain the same figures under How limits work.
- Reading. Bluesky sends followers 100 at a time and limits how fast any one connection can ask, so loading a large account takes minutes.
- Following and blocking. Your Bluesky server allows about 1,666 follows or blocks an hour and 11,666 a day. BskyKit suggests at most 1,000 a day, counting follows, unfollows, blocks, unblocks, mutes, and block list entries together, because large runs can get an account labeled as spam.
- Unfollowing and unblocking. Up to about 5,000 an hour and 35,000 a day.
- Muting. Mutes use none of your server's write points. BskyKit sends about four a second.
- Deleting. Up to about 5,000 deletes an hour and 35,000 a day, 200 at a time. Bulk Delete suggests at most 10,000 a day, so your account keeps room to post, like, and follow.
- Pauses. When a run reaches a limit, it waits and carries on by itself once the limit resets. BskyKit works in your browser, so runs and loads only progress while a BskyKit tab is open. If you close the tab, the run waits, paused, in History until you resume it.
Undo and History
History lists the runs started on this device for the signed-in account: lists, Starter Packs, follows, unfollows, blocks, mutes, removals, and deletes. From a run's menu you can resume a paused run, undo it, export it as JSON, or remove it from History.
- Undo reverses a run. Undoing a run that created a list, Starter Pack, list entries, follows, or blocks deletes the records it wrote, plus any list, pack, or block list subscription it created; nothing else on your account is touched.
- Undoing an unfollow run or a clean up follows the accounts or adds the list entries back. They carry the date of the undo, not the original date.
- Undoing a deleted list recreates it with the same name, description, and members, at a new address: links to the old list stop working.
- Bulk Delete runs have no Undo. A deleted post cannot be brought back as it was, so keep the export Bulk Delete downloads before it starts.
- Edits to a list's name, description, or avatar in My Lists are not runs, so they do not appear in History.
- Removing a run from History does not change anything on Bluesky, but BskyKit can then no longer undo, resume, or export it.
What stays on your device
BskyKit has no database of its own. Your session, run history, the follow lists you load, the read of your posts, reposts, and likes that Bulk Delete and Content Search share, and a short-lived cache of when accounts last posted are kept in this browser, and the work in progress in a tab survives the sign-in redirect. Another browser or device starts empty. The details are on the Privacy and Cookies pages.
