TranslateSky for Chrome

Read Bluesky posts in English.

Follow people from around the world without having to copy posts into a translation app.

TranslateSky translates non-English posts into English as you browse and shows the translation directly below the original text.

English posts are left alone.

A Spanish post with its English translation directly below.

Translations appear as you browse.

There's nothing to copy, paste, or click for each post. Open Bluesky, scroll through your feed, and read translations as they appear.

  • Translations below each post

The translation appears directly below the original post, so you can read both without leaving Bluesky.
  • English posts stay as they are

TranslateSky checks posts as they appear and skips those it identifies as English. Only posts that need translation are sent to your selected AI provider.
  • Feeds and conversations

Translations keep appearing as you scroll and open conversations. Turn the extension off whenever you like.

Setup

Choose your AI provider.

TranslateSky works with supported AI providers using your own API key.

Choose a provider, enter your key, and test the connection. The extension takes care of the translations while you browse.

Your API key is stored in the extension, not exposed to the Bluesky website. Translation requests go directly to your selected provider.

Translations are not free: your provider charges your own account for the requests the extension makes, at its usual rates. TranslateSky adds no charge of its own.

Controls and settings.

Turn translations on or off from the extension's popup. In its settings, see how many posts have been translated, review your usage, or clear saved translations.

Translations are stored in your browser for 24 hours to avoid repeatedly translating the same posts.

Posts in other languages that you might otherwise scroll past show up in English, below the original text.
